July 15th — August 16th Regional Round: Experience Science Experience Science gives senior high school students an insight into studying science at UQ and how science is applied in industry and everyday life. UQ/QAMT Problem Solving Competition
Schools unable to attend the event at St Lucia should cimpetition the competition as usual on Friday, March 15th. In addition to the above, each year, two schools from isolated areas will be invited to send a team to the State Finals in Brisbane.

On-campus activities and competitions
Each team registers once only; there are no further charges for teams going on to second or final rounds. Thursday October 24th at UQ, St Lucia sponsorship funds will be used to provide distance-based travel subsidies for teams living more than km from Brisbane.
The Year 11 results are taken heavily into consideration in the choice of Queensland students to be offered places in the National Mathematics Summer Schoolheld in Canberra each January.
Teams consist of 3 students compettition can be any combination of students from years seven or year eight as long as there is at least one year seven student in the team. Activities include workshops and investigations into a range of areas, including biology, 3D printing, mathematics and physics, palaeontology, bioengineering, nanotechnology, plant science and molecular bioscience.
Teams ONLY register once and winning teams go onto a round 2 or into the finals. In some circumstances variations to this schedule may be acceptable if they are declared, and approved by the local quiz convenor.
